We are happy to announce the launch of the Leiden-Edinburgh Global Law Summer School this summer in The Hague!
Leiden-Edinburgh Global Law Summer School: Public Interest Dispute Resolution and Advocacy (30 June – 4 July).
The Summer Course on Global Law, offered jointly by Leiden and Edinburgh Law Schools, focuses this year on the theme of Public Interest Dispute Resolution and Advocacy. It offers cutting-edge and research-based education on public interest litigation as a core feature of global legal practice. Coordinated by Letizia Lo Giacco (Leiden) and Gail Lythgoe (Edinburgh), there are modules on Transnational Food Governance: Markets, Movements, and Regulations, Global Security Governance, and Climate Change Litigation: Views from the Practice More information is available here [2]. - Introducing Global Law: Frameworks and Actors (Drs Letizia Lo Giacco, Universiteit Leiden, and Gail Lythgoe, University of Edinburgh)
- Transnational Food Governance: Markets, Movements, and Regulations (Dr Matthew Canfield, Universiteit Leiden)
- Global Security Governance (Dr Gavin Sullivan, University of Edinburgh)
- Global Governance and Regulation of Digital Labour (Dr Morshed Mannan, University of Edinburgh)
- Climate Change: Views from the Practice (Louise Fournier, Legal Counsel on Climate Justice and Liability at Greenpeace)
· Private International Law and Climate Change (Professor Olivera Boskovic, Université Paris Cité)
Two distinguished lectures from: Professor Helen Duffy (Universiteit Leiden and founder of Human Rights in Practice) and Dr. Hab. Marcin Czepelak (Secretary General, Permanent Court of Arbitration)
The course is targeted at professionals and postgraduate students (phd candidates or above).
