Humanitarian Engineering
8 ECTS / 4 US Credits
This track includes two preparatory (live) sessions in May/June.
Objectives: Overview of the humanitarian sector and issues at stake, project cycle in humanitarian contexts, application of engineering competencies to the aid’s sector, work in groups on a case study. In collaboration with the NGO Humanity and Inclusion and Bioforce, a humanitarian training provider based in Lyon.

Artificial Intelligence
6 ECTS / 3 US Credits
Objectives: This program provides students with a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its key domains, including Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Natural Language Processing, through both theoretical courses and practical applications. Additionally, students will explore AI’s integration with the Internet of Things and its real-world impact. A visit to the INSA Lyon Experimental Platform on Aerial Robots will further enrich the learning experience by offering insights into AI-driven robotics.

Activities
- Guided tour of Lyon
- Dinner in a typical French restaurant
- 2 day trips, such as a visit to the Beaujolais region (wine tasting) and Annecy

Depending on a variety of factors, activities may change.
Who can apply
- All Science and Engineering students at undergraduate or graduate level
- Tracks 1 and 2 are entry-level courses, with Track 1 requiring prerequisites in algorithmics and any programming language
- French language classes in Track 2 are divided into groups from beginners to advanced-level students
Please note that a minimum English level of B1 is required for the Human'INSA program.

You must complete and submit your application on our MoveON app from February 3 to May 15, 2025.
Costs
- Full cost: € 4,800
- Exchange cost: € 2,200
Check with your mobility coordinator within your university if we have an agreement and if the exchange cost applies.
The tuition fees include:
- Shared accommodation on campus (shared bedroom for 2 with small kitchen and bathroom)
- Breakfasts, lunches, and some dinners from Monday to Friday
- Participation and transport for all leisure activities organized by INSA Lyon
- Airport (Saint-Exupéry Lyon Airport) or Train station (Gare Part-Dieu) pick-up by a Short programs team member on June 19
- A 20-ride metro/tramway/bus ticket
- Access to wifi on campus
The tuition fees do not include:
- Plane tickets
- Personal health insurance
- Meals on weekends
